This recipe is on the back of a box of Kroger Saltines crackers.

(the red box - there are about four different kinds of Kroger Saltine crackers)

with cooking spray. Cover cookie sheet with saltines.

Boil sugar and butter for 3 minutes.

Pour mixture over saltines and spread evenly.

Bake at 400 F. for 5 minutes.

Remove from oven.

or other chocolate pieces and spread

Let set 1 minute, and then spread melted chips with spatula.

Sprinkle ¾ cup chopped nuts over this and press down lightly.

Cut on diagonal immediately or cool until firm,

then break up; pieces can be frozen. Yield 30 pieces.

TIP: The cookie sheet that I used when I made this recipe has one side to slid the cookies off from when you bake cookies, the cookie sheet is an older one. I did have foil on the cookie sheet. I did not have the foil extended high enough around the open edge. The mixture of butter and brown sugar that was on the crackers and was baking at 400 degrees for the 5 minutes. Some of the mixture boiled off of the crackers and cookie sheet and spilled in the oven. The oven started smoking and then the smoke alarms went off here in the house. If you make this delicious chocolate treat be sure the foil will catch the mixture of the butter and brown sugar. The mixture of butter and brown sugar is part of the reason this treat is so good, makes me think of a toffee.
